Rapids Archery JOAD archers enjoyed great field archery success during the 2018 outdoor season. In two separate competitions, the NFAA Midwest Outdoor Sectional and MAA/NFAA State Field Championship, our JOAD athletes earned many podium finishes and set numerous state records.
At the NFAA Midwest Sectional at Rapids Archery Club, nine members of our JOAD team took seven podium finishes with three in 1st place, two in 2nd place, and one in 3rd. In addition, Jack, George, Caleb, and Callie set or tied eight state records.
In July at the state field archery championship, eight JOAD team members took eight podium finishes with five in 1st place and three in 2nd place. Nine more state records fell to George, Caleb, Jeremy, Callie, and Kevin.
With the end of the field archery season, our attention turns to outdoor target archery and preparations for the state JOAD outdoor championship and Voyageur Cup in August.
Our summer JOAD session begins on May 23rd with the parent meeting and equipment inspection at 6:30. We'll start inside the clubhouse.
Please use our online registration form to get yourself registered for the upcoming session. See you there!
Eleven members of Rapids Archery JOAD competed in the MAA/NFAA State Indoor Championship in Becker, MN on March 17, 2018. Our team crowned three state champions, four second place finishes, and two 3rd place finishes for a total of nine podium places.
Congratulations to Ryland for shooting his first 300 in competition and finishing with the highest score on the team with a 300 45X.
Rapids Archery JOAD had a record turnout for the U.S. National Indoor Championships and JOAD National Indoor Championships in Mankato, MN with a total of 18 archers (and two coaches) competing in one or both tournaments.
Since it's two tournaments over one weekend, our archers had the opportunity to earn lots of pins and shoot lots of arrows. Even more importantly, our team had a great time together and made lots of memories!
The JOAD competition took place on Friday or Saturday evening. Our team had five top 30 finishes across the entire country with Jack (13th), Damon (19th), LeeAna (22nd), Kevin (26th) and Rachel (27th).
The national indoor was on Saturday and Sunday. We had five more top 30 finishes in the country with Jack (13th), LeeAna (19th), Damon (19th), Kevin (22nd), and Ashley (23rd).
